Recommendation: I was eleven-ish when I watched the pilot for this show with my parents and even then I could see the magnetic attraction between the captain and her new first officer. When I realized it was never going to happen (because the writer's had "reasons" **snerk**) my young heart was broken. I didn't watch the show all the way to the final season, but I got curious after about how it had ended only to discover Chakotay and Seven! Gah, betrayed and heartbroken again. But fanfic is the balm to all canon ills, and I promptly sought it out. Mizvoy writes great stuff and you've got to love an octogenarian spitfire.

Recommendation: This was SO Awesome! I loved this so much! I love the domestic space lesbians. ;) I love that the Borg children get a little more fleshing out, I love that their relationship with Seven and later B'Elanna are so important. I love all the little details of the OC aliens. But the best part is the wonderful building of the relationship between Seven and B'Elanna (and that no one is vilified in the process).

Recommendation: I thought that some of the weakest episodes were the ones featuring Seven's experiments in "romance" as they fully illustrate how far attitudes have come from the 90s and all the toxic heteronormative bs (we've still got a ways to go, but sheesh), so this is a breath of fresh air (even if Tom certainly doesn't come out smelling like roses) and provides a better romance for Seven and B'Elanna.

I like that Harry's actions get to be seen in the heroic light they deserve and that Tom gets the chance to appreciate him. I also love that they take a little time after the feelings reveal, it really made it seem like their friendship really was the most important thing.

I did like the description of the time disturbances on the planet, I thought that was well done and a little terrifying.

Recommendation: I've been meaning to rec some stories with this pairing, but somehow I've not gotten around to it until now. I was always frustrated with Harry's lack of development in the show and I think others were as well, I rather thought giving him a reason for things never working with women would have been a start. Tom's growth could have been taken care of with a friendship that morphed into a romance, while B'Elanna would have been just fine as a character without their lackluster romance.
