I just love all of the little world building details (‘No Proclamation, No Inquisition’, lol) and the adaptions of the characters to a more modern setting. If anyone could pull this off it would be Brienne, she is made of awesomeness. Oh and Tormund, bless him. And poor Theon makes poor life decisions no matter when he is.

I also love how badass Brienne is in this one, she's badass usually but I just feel it's presented to best effect here. Oh, and sly Sansa, gotta love her too.

I also love that sly Sansa is pulling strings and getting what she wants, including big weddings and tournaments. :D

The other really great thing is that we get to have ALL of the badass northern ladies and not just the usual suspects. Sansa and Arya getting to have good female friendships is worth the price of admission. Oh, and Sansa gets to save Lady!

I find that I'm a little disappointed in Robb though, not that I think that his response isn't correct or true to character but more that I think it is sad that Sansa's safety and happy don't seem to weigh heavily in the balance. Oberyn was a treat though.

Recommendation: This. Is. Epic. And it's not just the word count, but also the scope of the story as it tries to bring all the threads of the show to a logical and satisfying conclusion. A tall order, one I really don't think the show was even able to manage, but I really did enjoy this attempt. Dany and Cersei both tip the scale on the crazy-meter, but ironically enough it is an original character, Tisiph, that I most associate with this story. She is so well written that sometimes I forget that she isn't someone from canon as she fits so seamlessly into this world. There are a number of really good OCs in this one, truthfully, but she is most intrinsic to the plot and my favorite. Sansa is cleverer than everyone, Arya is badass, and Jon is a noble idiot, but all of those things are standard operating procedure.
