Title: I Have Loved the Stars Too Fondly
Author: TinySparklySharpenedSporks
Canon: Eastern Promises
Pairing: Nikolai Luzhin/Kirill
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 4,034
Summary: Some months after the events of the movie, Kirill and Nikolai have seized control of the London Vor and settled into a daily routine. Kirill upsets that when he's a little too appreciative of Nikolai's physique in a gym shower, and the two can no longer ignore his feelings.

Recommendation: I wondered a little if Nikolai had been making it easy to look so that Kirill would inevitably out himself. But regardless, it turns out just fine.

Title: And One
Author: strangeh
Canon: Eastern Promises
Pairing: Nikolai Luzhin/Kirill
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 3,983
Summary: Kirill experiences two firsts and Nikolai makes and revokes some concessions.

Recommendation: Poor Kirill does not seem to know that bisexual is a thing, but that's fair.

Title: Quicksilver
Author: thedevilchicken
Canon: Eastern Promises
Pairing: Nikolai Luzhin/Kirill
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 10,522
Summary: Nikolai has a job to do, no matter how much he dislikes it. But he's made an error in judgement and has to adapt.

Recommendation: This is another pairing I got nostalgic over while making new graphics for the blog. Boy, this film was so brutal but these two were so compelling. This starts out just a bleak as the movie, but thankfully it does not stay that way. It's good stuff.

Title: There Is Old Saying (To Live with Wolves)
Author: Cousin Shelley
Canon: Eastern Promises
Pairing: Nikolai Luzhin/Kirill
Rating: Mature [R]
Word Count: 3,700
Summary: He’d failed before he started, if staying pure and clean had really been the goal. It never had been, though. He knew it then as he knew it now.

Recommendation: I love all the extra details that fill out Nikolai’s past, it makes him seem so much more human instead of just being a picture of cold efficiency. But nothing in his past really has the same draw as Kirill’s complete trust so one shouldn’t be surprised he goes native.

Title: If He Weren't So Proud
Author: Thrayonlosa
Canon: Eastern Promises
Pairing: Nikolai Luzhin/Kirill
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 3,235
Summary: The vodka slides down easily now, still burning at the back of his throat, but Kirill is drunk enough not to care.

Recommendation: Kirill is so utterly desperate for it, and he hates himself for it but he wants it so, so bad. Nikolai finally takes pity.

Title: Hide and Seek
Author: Elfgrandfather
Canon: Eastern Promises
Pairing: Nikolai Luzhin/Kirill
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 4,384
Summary: Nikolai and Kirill continue to play hide and seek after Maria has gone to bed, and Nikolai ends up finding more than he expected.

Recommendation: This was by turns cute (Kirill playing with his niece), funny (Kirill being ratted out by his niece to Nikolai) and hot (Nikolai catching up to Kirill). Checked all my boxes.

Summary: They possess the empire, one step at a time.

Recommendation: Nikolai steers Kirill to a better way. And may get to take out some bad guys along the way.

Title: Aftermath
Author: lies_d
Canon: Eastern Promises
Pairing: Nikolai Luzhin/Kirill
Rating: Teen [PG]
Word Count: 1,605
Summary: In the aftermath of Semyon’s arrest, Nikolai must decide what is to be done with Kirill.

Recommendation: I saw this bleak movie ages ago, and even still it has the distinction of having the most unsettlingly brutal and realistic fight scene I’ve ever seen on film. All the the interactions between these two were so fraught, so full of all the things not said. Like how Nikolai was really a cop and Kirill was so, so very gay for him but hated himself for it. I like to think Nikolai had a little soft spot of Kirill, for though he’s a bad man you knew he was a victim of his father too.
