Recommendation: Comment Hiatus ~ A partial hiatus in that I'll post a rec but I won't do the write up because I'm really behind and real life is getting in my way.

Title: Reading Lessons
Author: RiverDeNile
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Wesley Wyndam-Pryce/Charles Gunn
Rating: Teen [PG]
Word Count: 3,193
Summary: I have the entire compendium of Wolfram & Hart’s knowledge at the tips of my fingers. I have only to open the sole manuscript kept in my office and request the knowledge, and it appears to me. With only a word, I can access the rarest, most elusive texts in a matter of seconds, in any number of languages, translations, and editions. I forget that Charles Gunn can read me as easily as I can read that manuscript.

Recommendation: Comment Hiatus ~ A partial hiatus in that I'll post a rec but I won't do the write up because I'm really behind and real life is getting in my way.

When time elapses between a stimulus and the response to it, it doesn't mean that response is any less.

Title: Moving On, Forward (Come in Lost Soul)
Author: pushingcrazies
Canon: Angel | Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Pairing: Jonathan Levinson/Dennis Pearson; side of Winifred 'Fred' Burkle/Charles Gunn/Wesley Wyndam-Pryce
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 203,089
Summary: Jonathan and Andrew are on the run to Mexico when a chance encounter in Los Angeles sets them on a new path - one with consequences neither could have foreseen.

Recommendation: Uh, this was so good! I love long plotty stories about minor and background characters that both flesh them out and let them change thing by their inclusion in the main plot but also don't make them something other then what they were. Jonathan and Andrew are not suddenly super powered, they are themselves thrust into new circumstances and given new opportunities. I also loved that they don't magically know all the things that are going on with the regular Angel and Buffy cast. I loved the building of the relationship between Jonathan and Dennis it was so good. *sigh* I can't say enough good things about this one.

Title: The Medley series
Author: idyll
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Angel/Lindsey McDonald
Rating: Mature [R]
Word Count: 17,700
Summary: A dead ex-lawyer and a weary ex-Champion in Pittsburgh more than a decade from now.

Recommendation: This is an awesome, awesome thing. Imagine my surprise at finding a Langel story that is Post-Don't Fade Away and not an AU that has a happy ending. But it works and it works well. I love the glimpses of this new place that Linsdey the zombie lives and the OCs that live there too. I love how Angel and Lindsey's broken pieces fit together and how they seem to understand one another. Top marks.

Title: After Hell, What?
Author: azryal
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Angel/Lindsey McDonald
Rating: Mature [R]
Word Count: 2,591
Summary: Angel needed him. Angel rescued him. Now he doesn't really know what to do with him. Lindsey has an idea.

Recommendation: Nothing says welcome back from a hell dimension like office sexy times. The brief moment of Spike and Lindsey teaming up to plague Angel is pretty funny too.

Title: A Defining Moment
Author: Menomegirl
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Angel/Lindsey McDonald
Rating: Mature [R]
Word Count: 5,368
Summary: Cordelia awakens from her coma with a mission and Lindsey is oh-so-available. Story uses some dialog from the episode "You're Welcome".

Recommendation: There is something perversely satisfying about Lindsey being able to experience the visions first hand after he dismissed them as feeling like brain freeze from eating ice cream. I'm still miffed at the show for throwing in all the queer baiting right as the show was wrapping up so this is very satisfying.

Title: In Dark Woods, the Right Road Lost
Author: Kohaku1977
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Angel/Lindsey McDonald
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 8,369
Summary: Lindsey runs. He stumbles and catches himself before crashing into the underwood. It's ungraceful, and he is not as quick as he would like to be, since he is wearing his damn office shoes, stupid Italian leather shoes with no profile whatsoever, just slippery soles, and his jacket gets caught on low hanging branches.

Recommendation: Instead of looking like an episode on Angel in my head, this story looked like nothing so much as an episode of Supernatural.

Title: U Turn
Author: Cody Nelson
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Angel/Lindsey McDonald
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 33,904
Summary: On his way out of Los Angeles, Lindsey has an encounter with Angel that leads to his return to Angel Investigations. Spoilers through "Dead End."

Recommendation: This has got to be my favorite Langel story full stop. It's for a variety of reasons but one of the things that stands out for me is Lindsey lawyering for good. He's no Thurgood Marshall or Nelson and Murdock but it's nice to see him using his other skills to benefit the side of the angels. Another thing I love is Lindsey developing relationships with Angel's team: friends with Cordelia, companionable ribbing with Gunn and a tentative truce with Wesley. Finally the simmering heat between Lindsay and Angel is something not to be missed.

Title: Evil
Author: glacis
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Angel/Lindsey McDonald; hints of Wesley Wyndam-Pryce/Charles Gunn
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 23,259
Summary: Lindsey and his 'evil' new hand try to start a new life. Fate intrudes. Massive spoilers for Dead End.

Recommendation: This was really awesome. I love the thought of a frontal assault on Wolfram and Hart rather than the from within crap from the show. All in all this was a terrific step back in time for me.

Title: No More Dreaming of the Dead
Author: Melodious329
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Angel/Lindsey McDonald
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 14,369
Summary: Takes place after the episode Dead End in Season Two. Lindsey McDonald was supposed to have left LA after destroying Wolfram & Hart’s body parts lab, but Angel finds him a few weeks later in a demon’s lair. Convinced that the evil law firm is still after Lindsey, Angel takes him back to the hotel while they figure out what to do. But Lindsey isn’t recovering, and Cordelia’s still pissed at Angel for firing them, and Wesley’s constantly pissed at Angel for usurping his authority. Maybe all they need is to relearn some trust.

Recommendation: Angel is not this best self in this one, but he eventually gets it together in time to be Lindsey's hero. The demon in this one was super creepy, I thought.

Title: The One with the Power (Powerless)
Author: glacis
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Angel/Lindsey McDonald; side of Cordelia Chase/Charles Gunn
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 16,314
Summary: Angel learns the unexpected consequences of not cleaning one's weapon before maiming one's opponent. Lindsey adapts.

Recommendation: I've been bit by the nostalgia bug once again, and this time it is Langel. These two were always so fraught but I was always ultimately disappointed with the writers choices for Lindsey's character. Having him just regrow his hand sounds like something that could have happened to him though, and I can't say I don't prefer this to what happened to Cordy. She deserved better.

Title: Looking Straight Ahead
Author: Settiai
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Wesley Wyndam-Pryce/Charles Gunn
Rating: Teen [PG]
Word Count: 1,928
Summary: When Wesley left Los Angeles, he planned on never looking back. Too bad he was being followed.

Recommendation: I do so love the idea of Wesley and Gunn getting away before Don't Fade Away. It cut me up that they fell out and never really reconciled truly. I loved Fred but I hated that they'd broken their friendship up over her.

Author: mimesere
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Wesley Wyndam-Pryce/Charles Gunn
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 4,786
Summary: Gunn does the hustle and the hustle does him.

Recommendation: I do so love a bonding over pool or billiards story, so very homoerotic. I love the thought of Wesley being a surprise to Gunn, but a good surprise.

Title: A Question of Style
Authors: Jane St Clair & Teland
Canon: Angel
Pairing: Wesley Wyndam-Pryce/Charles Gunn
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 7,182
Summary: Wes does some thinking and such.

Recommendation: I'm feeling all nostalgic over WesGunn and a little sad that there isn't more with them, but this was so wonderful. I can totally get behind Wes not having firm lines between friendship and desire, he's just no good at wholly platonic interest in people.
