Title: Little Luxuries
Author: tinsnip
Canon: Star Trek DS9
Pairing: Julian Bashir/Elim Garak
Rating: Teen [PG]
Word Count: 2,831
Summary: “The issue arises when he steps out of the shower and looks at himself in the mirror. Well, to be accurate, it doesn’t arise: it stands out in all directions from his head.” Cardassia is hot, and Julian Bashir is doing his best to deal with the summer - but honestly, can he really be expected to function looking like this? As always, Garak has a suggestion.

Recommendation: Dude, I feel Julian’s pain. I have curly hair and live in a humid climate, those two are not mixy things.

Title: Bachelor's Wife
Author: LadyDrace
Canon: Star Trek DS9
Pairing: Julian Bashir/Elim Garak
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 12,227
Summary: Garak is feeling lonely and depressed while going through his shedding season. Doctor Bashir proves to be an annoyance difficult to get rid of. Cue truckloads of angst and misunderstandings. And Sex.

Recommendation: One imagines with Garak everything is going to be so much more complicated than it needs to be. Julian’s almost just as bad though with the whole “I’m doing this for doctorly reasons and it’s totally platonic except for all those romantic feelings”.

Title: Strange and Distant Shores
Author: gryvon
Canon: Star Trek DS9
Pairing: Julian Bashir/Elim Garak
Rating: Explicit [NC-17]
Word Count: 6,839
Summary: In 2398, reporter Felix Marian interviews Chairman Garak and Ambassador Bashir about the formation of the Cardassian Democratic Union and ends up learning more about Cardassia than he intended.

Recommendation: It’s starts as a political interview and ends up as the story of how we finally got together. Very cute.

Title: The Presumption of Innocence
Author: Allemande
Canon: Star Trek DS9
Pairing: Julian Bashir/Elim Garak
Rating: Teen [PG]
Word Count: 5,799
Summary: When Garak comes back from a business trip, he makes an absolutely delightful discovery: Doctor Bashir, whom he was beginning to think of as just another predictable, boring human, is not who -or rather what- everyone thought he was. (Set right after “Doctor Bashir, I Presume”.)

Recommendation: Only a Cardassian would be charmed and turned on by the thought of someone having lied to them (successfully) for the entirety of their acquaintance. Poetic scavenger hunt for the win though.

Title: Letters from the Northern Continent
Author: thehoyden
Canon: Star Trek DS9
Pairing: Julian Bashir/Elim Garak
Rating: Mature [R]
Word Count: 7,966
Summary: It just figured that the first time Julian Bashir set foot on Cardassia after the war, it would be halfway around the world from Elim Garak.

Recommendation: I can’t quite understand why its taken me so long to do an in depth review of this wonderful pairing, I loved their dynamic in the show. I can understand why this story is top because there is nothing bad about it. I love the premise. I love the old Cardassian Julian works with. I love that Julian takes to wearing Cardassian clothes and learning the language. I love everything.
