I love taking trips and visiting new places, but I also love coming home and getting a chance to recharge my batteries. The spouse and I have just gotten back from a trip we took with friends to Nashville, Tennessee. I had a good time all in all, the highlight for me was the Nashville zoo with it's exhibit of Red Pandas. OMG SO CUTE! I'm so weak to cute things and they are unspeakably adorable (and yes I did go home with cuddle-some plushies). We also had a really fun outing to the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg. I do not care for booze in general or whiskey in particular, but I love going on tours about how things are made and how they have been made that way for a hundred plus years especially when being lead around by a funny and engaging docent. I also appreciated the irony of being in the wettest dry county ever (still confused about that, got to say). Hockey games were attended, much food was enjoyed, honky-tonks were visited and when those got a bit much the spouse found me a charming coffee shop to hole up in while the rest of them crawled Broadway.
The soundtrack to this trip was not as one might expect country music rather it was the podcast Be the Serpent, which I have rec'd before but I had fallen way behind on listening to only to fall in love with it all over again. Listening to so many episodes in quick succession kind of gave me recommendations overload, but a few things actually sneaked in and lead to reading of my own. Two villainous and psychopathic ladies got a lot of love and I just could not help myself so I found myself reading lots of Villaneve from Killing Eve (which Murder Husbands with ladies is not a big jump for me) and Alice Morgan from Luther with her own favorite detective. Psychopaths and the lawmen/women that love them is the mood of the week apparently.
I hope everyone is having a good week so far. :D

We went there to surprise my dad with a trip to the Grand Ole Opry show and he still tells his friends about it.
