Non-Rec: The State of the Backdate Address

So despite having all of my recs from the last four plus years over on my other blogs, I have been backdating those same posts here on DW. I was posting furiously in December, but since the new year I've been distracted by other things (Snowflake, icon making, Shipposting, etc.) and have not gotten much further having only posted back to August 2017. The wonderful musyc suggested I should probably be letting folks know that I'm A) doing this at all and B) when I have done more posting as it should not be coming up on anyone's reading page. (This all came up because I forgot to check "Don't show on Reading Pages" for one of those 2017 posts and there was confusion on how it got there.) I'm not sure if I'll make this a weekly thing or just do it when I've made some headway in backdating, we'll have to see how regular that ends up being. :D

In other news, I have fallen completely in love with the podcast Be the Serpent which was recommended by the lovely jainas. The episode in the rec was titled "Alien Fucking, or Where There’s a Will, There’s A Way" and that was so painfully up my alley that I could not help but go over and check it out immediately. It was wonderful, and I've now begun to listen to their back issues which are also so great I can't properly express my delight in words. Maybe I am the absolute last person to hear about them, but on the off chance that I'm not do yourself a favor and check them out.

Matt gets the distinct impression Strange is hedging. "Are you currently suffering heartbreak?" Matt very carefully doesn't think about Elektra. Or Karen. Or Foggy. "Let's leave my personal life out of this." Strange clears his throat. "Yes, well, that option may no longer be on the table." Matt really hates magic.

Recommendation: Magic is always a tricky thing to deal with, feelings are another thing that can be tricky to deal with especially if your name is Matthew Murdock. I like the thought of the Defenders having more madcap adventures and while I know that isn't the tone of the show it's still pretty fun.

Non-Rec: Shipposting, the Jorian Edition

Despite how short a run Almost Human had as a show, Jorian as a ship that I adore has had quite a long half-life. There are really obvious reasons for that in that Karl Urban and Michael Ealy are lovely, but there are a few less obvious reasons as well. I love the inherent difficulty of a human/android pairings and that it's also compounded by being police partners. I love the thorny issues of consent that are brought up and have to be dealt with in the stories.  I love when someone writes them an original case fic (that’s so good) but I also love when they get some much needed resolution to the story lines begun in the show. The show was cancelled a good while ago (five years already, jeez) but I’m still not quite over it nor am I over this really great pairing.

And as always, I have made icons for this ship I love. <3
