Non-Rec: The State of the Backdate Address

So despite having all of my recs from the last four plus years over on my other blogs, I have been backdating those same posts here on DW. I was posting furiously in December, but since the new year I've been distracted by other things (Snowflake, icon making, Shipposting, etc.) and have not gotten much further having only posted back to August 2017. The wonderful musyc suggested I should probably be letting folks know that I'm A) doing this at all and B) when I have done more posting as it should not be coming up on anyone's reading page. (This all came up because I forgot to check "Don't show on Reading Pages" for one of those 2017 posts and there was confusion on how it got there.) I'm not sure if I'll make this a weekly thing or just do it when I've made some headway in backdating, we'll have to see how regular that ends up being. :D

In other news, I have fallen completely in love with the podcast Be the Serpent which was recommended by the lovely jainas. The episode in the rec was titled "Alien Fucking, or Where There’s a Will, There’s A Way" and that was so painfully up my alley that I could not help but go over and check it out immediately. It was wonderful, and I've now begun to listen to their back issues which are also so great I can't properly express my delight in words. Maybe I am the absolute last person to hear about them, but on the off chance that I'm not do yourself a favor and check them out.

I LOVE be the serpent, it makes walking the dog an exercise in people giving me funny looks as I'm laughing myself stupid apparently over nothing. I don't know if you're aware but there's also a discord group, where we talk about episodes and other fannish things. I'm at work atm but can add the link when I get home if you want it.

I had the marvelous idea to listen to this while working on a project in the staff room of the library I work at. Sudden giggling fits getting me all the looks from my co-workers. ;D

Hehe bet you were popular :P At least it wasn't the main reading room, otherwise I don't think it would be limited to looks, they'd be bringing out the library tutting or glare ;)

Oh yes, having headphones on in the public spaces of the library is a hard no. I'd giggle and get the looks but they were more along the lines of "so what are you listening to?" to which I didn't really want to have to say "False Utopias and… Robot Sex?" ya'know. ;D

Having just created a new twitter so I can completely separate my interests, I completely sympathise :)

We were a bit more flexible with headphones but I worked at a music and art library so reserved the librarian looks for if it got too loud.

Yeah, we're a good old fashioned public library and we have to be "available" to the public. *sigh* I guess I'll listen to my podcast about robot dick in the staff room. ;D
