Title: All That I Am
Author: bretelgeuse
Canon: Captain America/MCU
Pairing: T’Challa/Sam Wilson
Rating: General [G]
Word Count: 1,029
Summary: “I wouldn’t even call him a super hero. In the mythology of his country, he’s not a super hero. He’s a warrior, and it’s part of their tradition. It’s not like, ‘Who is that masked guy that’s doing this stuff?’ Everybody knows it’s him, and they expect that it’s him, and they pray to God, or even him in some cases, that he would do the things that he’s doing.”
Recommendation: I can not adequately express my deep and passionate NEED for this pairing to take off. It has long bothered me that no mainstream pairing has feature two black men, two POCs, sure occasionally but two black men that are interesting by themselves and interact with each other even minimally. I can’t say I’ve ever really seen one. (If I’ve missed one and you want to tell me about them, please I am all ears.) I love how Steve and Tony are all respectful when they encounter Black Panther, but Sam’s all sass with “so you like cats?”. Then at the end we know Steve’s in Wakanda stands to reason Sam would be and that’s the perfect opportunity to get to know each other better.
