Summary: “Can I touch you?” Barnes asks. It’s maybe the most jarring thing Barnes has ever said to him, and that’s saying something considering Barnes has graced him with such hits as 'let’s take the shield, Sam' and 'we’re breaking Zemo out of prison, Sam' but he can already feel the ghost of a hand hovering over his back as if asking for permission. “To relieve the tension,” Barnes says as if Sam is the one being particularly dense.

Recommendation: I love, love, love Bucky being the one to take care of Sam. Sam takes care of everyone else and cares so deeply, it is so good to see him cared for in return. And if Bucky does it in his own weird intense super soldier/assassin way, so much the better.
