So real life has been kicking my butt, but I thought I'd jump back in now that things have calmed do just a bit. I love all of the variations on 'be kind' that this challenge usually engenders as they are in fact rather needed and good, but I think I will go with something a little less profound for mine:

The challenge is to try a new fandom, canon, or pairing that you are not quite sure about. It doesn't have to work out so that you end up loving the new thing you can discover that you do, in fact, dislike the new thing, but I just thought it might be good for us to expand our fannish horizons. :D

I'll report back in with my findings.

Summary: Set in early season 5, post-The Very Long Night of Londo Mollari. G'Kar expected Londo's long-awaited apology to bring him a sense of closure. Instead, he grapples with unsettled emotions and a loss of purpose. Desperate to force a change in their relationship, G'Kar belatedly takes up Londo's offer from Rising Star.

Recommendation: It's always a competition with these two, but it is better when it is a win-win like this. ;)

The first thing I thought of when I read this challenge was that the ones that most inspired me are all of the rec'ers that have gone before. That feels a little vague, but it is true. I spent many happy years combing through rec lists put together by people that were passionate about fandoms, pairings, and even fanfics in general.

In your own space, recommend a fannish or creative resource. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I feel like it is a little bit of a coup out, but my go to fannish resource is almost always the Fandom wiki or the Wikia (as it was previously known as). If I want to know what a character's birthday is, or if I can't remember at what point a character joined a show, or if I want to know the board strokes about a character so that I can get into reading fanfic from a new fandom I turn to the wikis. Bless you if you contribute or maintain these valuable fandom resources. You do good work, and you are very appreciated.

One of my favorites (that I have lost literal hours on) is the Wiki of Ice and Fire. There is just SO MUCH there. I love it.

So I feel a little uncomfortable in recounting my deeds of the day, but kindness has been shown and reflected on which I think is the spirit of the exercise. :D

So last but not least, my chiefest fannish work is an perpetually on-going project but lately my blog, Fanfiction Recommendations by Isabelle Disraeli, has been receiving a graphics face-lift. I figure that those graphics count as a fanwork even by themselves as I'm trying to capture the essence of the canon with a collage and font choices. ;D I've been working on trying to update the ones from older fandoms and here is a selection of the most recent (just click to view full sized):
