isabellerecs: Two Badgers from an album cover (badgers)

Challenge #5

Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've briefly interacted with and friend/follow them. Afterwards, leave a comment in this post with the equivalent of "I did it!"

For an introvert (which I know many of us are) this is one of the harder challenges. I've gotten it done but not without much hemming and hawing and in general far more hand wringing then it should really warrant.

In an effort to potentially make it easier for someone else I thought I'd do a brief run through of the canon material that I've consumed recently so that there is something for folks to comment on rather than just a "hi" out of no where. :D

So a couple of months ago the spouse and I caved and got Disney+ so that we could watch The Mandalorian. Feel free to come squee about it with me because I'm still not over how great it was. :D While we waited each week for the new episodes to drop we were able to rewatch The Clone Wars (just as good as I remembered) and I am so jazzed about a new season! (Ahsoka looks so cool!) We also finally got around to watching Rebels and I don't know why we waited so long! We went and saw The Rise of Skywalker, *sigh* well at least it's over with anyways. In amongst all the Star Wars, I was able to watch a season and a half of Gravity Falls but I haven't had time to finish it yet (though I'm given to believe the shit's about to get real). I've finally gotten Good Omens from my library and I'm just waiting for an opportunity to watch that. I'm excited. :) Currently, the spouse and I are having another rewatch of Babylon 5. I still love that show so much.

So what are you guys into? Come say hi, and let me know. :D
isabellerecs: Loveday in Blue Eyes Rolling (Default)
Title: Replay
Author: Unforgotten
Canon: X-Men (Filmverse)
Pairing: Erik Lehnsherr/Charles Xavier
Rating: Mature [R]
Word Count: 12,882
Summary: After Magneto of an X2-ish future succeeds in the unthinkable, Charles sends his consciousness back to 1962 to guide Erik away from the path that will lead to the genocide of the human race forty years hence. Charles knows that Erik has always loved him, and intends to use this knowledge + sex to seduce Erik away from his ideals in his youth. There's no way this well-thought-out, sensible, debugged and 100% bulletproof plan can possibly go wrong.

Recommendation: Giving these two a "redo" is pretty par for the course (they even made it the plot of a movie, so fanfic writers are in good company). Okay, without giving anything away, I thought that Charles was supposed to be smart. He comes off as rather thick in this one, but it all turns out alright for him.
