Non-Rec: Shipposting, the Cartinelli Edition

A while back I set about deliberately to cultivate an interest in femslash fanfic. I had read some here and there over the years, and I don’t know, I just couldn’t get into the dynamics or tropes or something they just seemed off. After meeting someone that read femslash exclusively, I availed myself of the opportunity to ask for recommendations. They read Swan Queen, and while I did enjoy the stories it still wasn’t going to become an OTP so I started looking around again on my own. Enter Cartinelli. I would have to say that this was my first real femslash OTP, and I feel like it was the perfect gate way pairing for someone who preferred slash pairings. I adore Peggy Carter and she fits neatly into the pattern of competent badass that I had enjoyed before even if she does it was a hell of a lot more pretty. Angie Martinelli fits the mantle of support character with emotional savvy and a sunny disposition, all things that I’d gone in for before. I just like the feel and the energy of them, though I found myself disappointed when Angie wasn’t included in the second season and then the show's cancellation. But what is fanfic for if not to pick up where canon leaves us wanting more.

Recommendation: First off, excellent use of an obscure Marvel villain. I love what all the Defenders are as shifters, very on point, and that they all still have their powers on top of or despite being shifters. I loved how involved Foggy is with the other Defenders and how it gives him and Matt the chance to really hash things out even if they keep getting interrupted.

sylvaine  The meme going around with the fic tropes made me a bit sad since it didn't contain a lot of tropes that I love, and luckily the code is open source, so I made my own! ... two versions, because it is hard to choose just 25 tropes out of a long list of them, but sorting anything more than that takes FOREVER.

The long version is still being updated and I am still taking suggestions for that one. xD Also if there's any errors I would love if you would let me know. I am posting this mostly because I am tired and want to stop working on it already. :P

Because I am a sucker for all these sorters, I tried the non-romantic trope sorter (the short one) that sylvaine has worked up (go you!), and I find myself not really surprised with the outcome. :) That there looks like my wheelhouse.
