The weather today is crap here, and I have a cold and feel like crap :P
On the bright side, I feel like I'm making progress in learning the ins and outs of DW. Everyone is being so helpful, I had two people (

I've mentioned to a few of you that I used to lurk in the old LJ days, and one of the things I really enjoyed was the icons (weren't they called avatars back then, or am I mis-remembering?). Pretty, clever, funny, and sometimes down right hot I loved seeing what people came up with and I even had a folder of my favorites (lost a few computers ago, unfortunately). It wasn't really a thing on Tumblr, a fact that I was always a little sad about. But now on DW it's a thing again, yah!
Though I am curious, what is considered the appropriate etiquette for the use of other people's icons? I'm going to go ahead and assume it's okay to save them if you think their pretty, but if you would like to use them is it excepted that you ask permission? Should you cite who you got it from? If that person was not the one to create the icon in the first place do you cite them or ask them where they got it? And if they don't remember? What if you find one on an account that hasn't had activity in ages, fair game or no go? I don't want to be impolite if I can help it at all, so I'd love some feedback. :)
