Title: Close Your Eyes and Kiss Me
Author: Gilrael
Canon: Haikyuu!!
Pairing: Chikara Ennoshita/Ryuunosuke Tanaka
Rating: Teen [PG]
Word Count: 7,334
Summary: “Put on your freaking shirt, you idiot!” Chikara growled, shoving the piece of cloth back at him with a little too much force. “Admit it, Chikara,” Tanaka shot back cockily, “you like seeing me shirtless.” — Ennoshita has a crush on Tanaka and is trying to figure out how to deal with it, while also trying to be a good senpai and captain for the rest of the team.
Recommendation: This was so, so awesome! I loved everything about it. Chikara is such a good captain and a brave senpai. There is a whole lot of gay going on here and that’s just great. I really liked that the actual state of the gay community in Japan was referenced as I think it is so often overlooked in fan stories giving the false impression that it’s easy to be out. Not acknowledging the difficulties, I feel, is a real disservice to the real LGBT community, but when it is acknowledged I think it can be used as a powerful and positive message.
