Hey, I relate to this a lot. I love the idea of sex pollen tropes, but it has to be with characters who would've had an underlying desire to do it anyway. I also think that it seems most honest when one deals with the fact that it is, like, mutually dubious consent even if it is enthusiastically given at the time and that it might be a rocky way to find out you were mutually into each other.

Oh yes, I agree, and I do appreciate stories that take the time to unpack the thorny consent issues inherent in a sex pollen scenario. I've read a few that dealt rather explicitly with that, but I would say most tend to opt out just after the sex. So I like to imagine that the needed conversations happen just after that. :D
