So last night after reading a lovely story, And Lay Our Bones to Rest by Muccamukk, I was really feeling in a The Pacific mood or more yet an Andrew A. "Ack-Ack" Haldane/Edward "Hillbilly" Jones mood. So I decided to bring out the one rec I have posted for that pairing, So Much for Playing It Safe by Skew and it's prequel Hillbilly Faces the Music, only to make a horrifying discovery. The link is completely locked down if not deleted, D: and I seemed to not have a copy saved. DD:

Now we come to the desperate appeal for information in that I was truly hoping that someone here has saved one or both of those lovely stories and might be willing to share a copy with me. I would be ever so grateful!

Title: Pokémon, Beyoncé and a Cute Christmas Sweater
Author: sosioban
Canon: Almost Human
Pairing: Richard Paul/MX-43
Rating: Teen [PG]
Word Count: 130,943
Summary: Richard's MX has bought him a gift that sends them both on a quest for Gym Badges. Somewhere along the way Richard develops an attachment to the members of his Pokémon team- and to his MX. What they discover in a game may end up changing things in the real world as well. A.K.A. the one where they play Pokemon, being silly saves the world, and some MXs have f'd up priorities.

Recommendation: I love it when a rare pairing gets an epic length story, and I love "cops and robots" so this right off the bat checked two serious boxes of mine. I love that it starts with just Paul and his MX learning to play together but you get hints that a larger plot is going on in the background before it intrudes on their Pokemon time. I love that sosioban hit a nice balance between having the MX grow into an individual but not to have it seem just like Dorian with his synthetic soul. Robots knitting, too wonderful. ;)
