Non-Rec: Flying by the Seat of My Pants, with Careful Planning & Spreadsheets

Day 11 - Fandom Snowflake Challenge

In your own space, talk about your creative process(es) — anything from the initial inspiration to how you feel after something’s done. Do you struggle with motivation or is it a smooth process? Do you have any tricks up your sleeve to pull out when a fanwork isn’t cooperating? What is your level of planning to pantsing/winging it?

So barring a few recent forays into other types of fannish content, my bread and butter has been fanfiction recommendations for quite some time now. I'll usually write a short explanation about why I've enjoyed a story (somethings it's little more than textual flailing) and that really wouldn't be hard except for some reason I decided that I would do this once a day, everyday.

The reason I am able to do this can be summed up in one word. . . Spreadsheets. Oh, I have so many spreadsheets. This allows me to keep everything organized and to be on top of my output despite the fact that I will go long stretches of time when I read no new fanfic at all. It's kind of feast or famine, all three hundred sixty five recs for 2018 were all done in a very active 2017. (Consequently this allowed me to move to two new platforms, WordPress and Dreamwidth, in 2018 without my output suffering).

I really need to get back into the swing of things soon though, I've less than a month to go with already prepared recs. It's hard though, winter has always been my least productive season (I'm not really sure why) but I see the deadline in the distance. ;)

Rec: Smash Mouth by belial

Title: Smash Mouth
Author: belial
Canon: Guardians of the Galaxy/MCU
Pairing: Yondu Udonta/Kraglin Obfonteri
Rating: Mature [R]
Word Count: 1,044
Summary: This is my fix-it for the end of Volume 2, told through different Kragdu kisses.

Recommendation: I firmly believe that Yondu would resist any soft feeling with grumbles and curses, but he'd eventually get there much to his own disgust.
